About Us
Chordiality is run by six friends on a voluntary basis for its members and the local community. From organising performances, concerts and social get-togethers, and running weekly choir practices, to supporting our members’ wellbeing, here are the women that make it happen.
Ben Beer
Musical Director
Chordiality’s Musical Director is Ben Beer. Working closely with the choir team, Ben arranges songs, leads choir practices, and accompanies our performances. Thanks to his encouragement and musicianship, we’ve quickly built a reputation for giving great performances that uplift our audiences and add something special to local events.
Our Story
Chordiality was started in 2018 by a group of friends who wanted to sing in a choir that put as much emphasis on the wellbeing of its members as it did on musical confidence and singing skills.
Today, Chordiality has built a strong reputation as Macclesfield’s leading community choir for its great performances, joyful singing and personal wellbeing. We rehearse every Monday at the United Reformed church, Park Green, Macclesfield throughout the year (apart from Bank Holidays and a Summer break.)
Chordiality performs at local festivals, Macclesfield’s Treacle Market, community fairs, civic events and at charity fundraisers, and in collaboration with other local musicians and bands, including Silk Brass band, as guest performers at their concerts.
We’re really proud that Chordiality is the only choir in Macclesfield that exists purely for the benefit of the members and our community, with no additional funding or sponsorship.
